Rev Edward Frank Bankert

Edward F. BANKERT BANKERT, Edward F. Edward Frank Bankert, 82, of R.R. # 1, Stratford passed away suddenly and peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, September 26, 2013. He was born at Valparaiso, Indiana on November 4, 1930, a son of the late Allan and Corena Bankert. During his lifetime he had farmed, worked in retail and was a minister of the Reformed Mennonite Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, Amanda (Wilhelm) Bankert on April 1, 1999. He is the beloved husband of Mary (Cook) Bankert whom he married on June 26, 2005; the dear father of Paul and wife Alma Bankert of Airdrie, Alberta; Michael and wife Jeanne Bankert of R. R. # 2, Embro; Mark and wife Julie Bankert of Bluffton, Ohio; the loved grandfather of ten grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; dear brother of Mary Young of Wellesley, Wallace Bankert of Port Colborne; brother-in-law of "Wilhelm" and "Cook" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in North Easthope Reformed Mennonite Church on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Allan Bankert and Gene Beehler will officiate. Interment in North Easthope Reformed Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Stratford General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 519-655-2431.
