He was the son of Johannes Hepler and Maria Catherina Maurer.
Jacob was baptized in 1802 at St. Jacob's (Howerter's) Lutheran and Reformed Church in Line Mountain, Northumberland Co., PA.
He married Elisabetha (Haupt) Hepler abt 1831.
Jacob was a Blacksmith and followed that trade for many years.
During the latter part of his life, he began preaching as a Minister of the Church of God.
Jacob died at the home of his son, Henry, in Ashland, Schuylkill Co., PA.
