Chaplain James Latta served with Lancaster County Militia, Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution.
Daughters of the American Revolution
James was born in 1732 in the north of Ireland. In 1738 he came with his father, the Rev, James Latta Sr, a Presbyterian minister and his mother Mary Alison Latta by ship to the Delaware coast where they crashed into the Rocky coastline and all records were lost , They survived, and his parents settled in Elktown, Maryland.
He served as both a soldier and a chaplain in the American Revolution, Third Battalion, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Militia.
