John Beach was born in 1593 at St. Albans, Herts., England. The family name is probably a corruption of de la Beche. He was a non-conformist clergyman who, for a while, lived in Devonshire. He married a Miss Moss and they had at least three sons.

According to NJGENWEB - "The Beach Family" - transcribed by John Cresseveur and published by Brianne Kelly-Bly in 2001 - Rev John Beach of Devonshire had three sons - all emigrating to British America - Richard in 1639, John in 1641 and Thomas in 1647. No original sources provided.
