Thomas came to America in 1638 or 1639. Thomas 1st appeared in records of early New Haven, CT. on 6 Apr 1646. Mar 7, 1647 took oath of Fidelity. New Haven Records established he is the brother of Richard Beach and there is strong circumstantial evidence that John Beach was likewise a brother. Many theories but no documentary proof of of the New Haven Beach family Ancestry. Sarah Platt was from town of Milford. First minister of the Church at Milford was Peter Pruden, ancestor of Rupert Pruden of Burghill, Ohio, and may have officiated at the wedding of Thomas and Sarah.

Milford, CT
Local officials commissioned the memorial bridge in 1889 to honor Milford’s original settlers, in part because the settlers’ final resting places aren’t known. As settlers passed away, they were buried in what would become Milford Cemetery. Those graves were either unmarked, or marked with wooden headstones that were eventually lost to time.
