He married a woman named Mary.
He married a woman named Mary. It is known through the 1810 (Greene Co., PA.), 1820 and 1830 (both Tyler Co., VA.) census and the age of the husband, that he was not the Richard Anderson, the son of Daniel & Rachel Worthington Anderson, who married Jane Virginia Anderson and later partnered with William Sharpnack, his brother-in-law in land patents in Tyler County, Virginia.
He may have instead remained in Greene County, Pennsylvania, which would make his burial, as some suggest, in Shriver Cemetery in Monongalia County, West Virginia questionable. A visit to this cemetery in June 2014 found no marker in Shriver Cemetery for him. Contributor & manager, Diane Gravlee* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: May 29 2022, 15:41:43 UTC
