Viet 1881 i Calumet, Michigan, United States

Killed in the Tamarack mine, by falling rock.

I think this article pertains to his death, Though I cannot say for certain:

Feb 9 1888, Thursday, Page 7, The Cornishman, Penzance Cornwall, England,

ACCIDENTS TO CORNISH MINERS ABROAD.
Injured at the Tamarack mine, Michigan, on Wednesday, Dec. 28th, six men were injured by the fall of a mass of hanging rock, of whose threatening position they were warned the previous evening: indeed they were ordered to take it down, but, after sounding it, neglected to do so. The pare was composed of three Austrians (one crushed thigh, a second a broken arm, and a third his scalp badly torn) two Finlanders, and a Cornishman: the last three were not so seriously hurt.
