Rebecca Makleff Born in Motza in 1910. Studied in Jerusalem at a nursery and in girls school. Graduated in 1928 the Kindergraden Teachers Seminar in Tel-Aviv and was appointed as a teacher to the children of Motza. Also worked in the farm of her parents, and brought culture and cheerful spirit into the life of the youth in the small village. At midday of Saturday, when Arab rioters began throwing stones on her parents' house, she went out ot the garden to talk about that Rioters and coax them to withdraw their evil deeds, and there she was shot and murdered. Her body was brought in the same day by a military armoured car to Jerusalem, along with the bodies of her parents and her brother and sister, to the "Bikur-Cholim" hospital and then buried on the Mount of Olives.

רבקה מקלף הי"ד נולדה במוצא, בשנת תר"ע (1910). למדה בירושלים בגן ילדים, בבית-ספר לבנות, גמרה בתרפ"ח את בית-המדרש לגננות בתל-אביב ונתמנתה לגננת לילדי מוצא. עבדה גם במשק ההורים והכניסה רוח תרבות ועליזות בחיי הנוער בכפר הקטן. בצהרי יום השבת, י"ח אב תרפ"ט, כשהפורעים הערבים החלו רוגמים את בית הוריה באבנים, יצאה אל הגן לדבר על לב הפורעים ולשדלם שיחדלו ממעשיהם הרעים, ושם נרצחה ביריות. גופתה הובאה במכונית משורינת של הצבא בו ביום לירושלים, יחד עם גופות הוריה ואחיה ואחותה, לבית החולים "ביקור חולים", ומשם לקבורה בהר הזיתים.
