Robert Smith Atchley

He was the son of Joseph Alexander Atchley (1792-1861) and Mary Smith (1798-1850). He married 4 times. 1st: Nancy A Butler (1828-1869) on 11 Sep 1845 in McMinn, Tennessee. They did not have any children.

2nd: Elizabeth Bond (1819-1859) on 20 Feb 1851 in Phillips County, Arkansas. They did not have any children.

3rd. Sarah Serepta Barnett (1842-1877) on 13 Jul 1859 in Hopkins County, Texas. They had the following children: Joseph Alexander Atchley (1860-1947) John Nelson Atchley (1861-1942) Martha Ann Atchley-Boynton (1863-1960) James Noah Atchley (1866-1946) Daniel Edward Atchley (1872-1962) William E Atchley (1873-1893)

4th: Mary Elizabeth Mowery (1844-1885) in April 1877 in Red River County, Texas. They had the following children: Sarah Jane Atchley (1878-1878) Isaac Edward Atchley (1880-1962) Lou Nettie Atchley-Moore (1881-1971)

While it is not known for sure where he was buried, I have chosen this cemetery to post his memorial. He was living in or near Clarksville during this time and two of his children were born in Clarksville.
