About Pvt. Robert M Crockett

Robert Crockett came to the Beech Bottom area from Green Co. Tn about 1800. He received a 200 acre land grant for his service during the Revolutionary War. He purchased the 200 acres in Beech Bottom Ky in 1814. He is thought to be the uncle of Davy Crockett. He states in his pension papers that he has no record of his birth and thinks he was born in 1755. Our family is a DNA match to the children of David and Elizabeth Crockett. Robert and his wife Margaret [who died between 1830 and 1833 and is thought to be buried next to Robert] had the following children according to Robert's will registered in Cumberland Co. Ky.

In 1780, William, John, and Robert were in the Battle of Kings Mountain.
In 1784, Robert received a warrant for land in Sullivan County, Tennessee. At that time it was in North Carolina.
