In the Census 1901 Robert and his wife Mary are living in Boreland Cottage Clovend Southwick Kirkcudbright. with children James 4 years and Mary 1 year. Robert is working as a dairyman. Annie Hyslop a general servant 16 years is living with them.
In the 1911 census Robert and Mary are living at a farm cottage at Stonykirk Wigtownshire. Robert is working as a dairyman. There children are Robert 7 years, Mary 11 years, and Jane 9 years. There were 5 children born alive in the marriage and two deceased at this time. Robert employs William Murray a servant/assistant cattleman and Maggie McLatchie. (September 2015)
Robert died in 1956 a retired farmer. Mary predeceased him by some years having died in 1937.
