Robert L. Throckmorton, Jr., 54, of Rogersville Star Route, Waynesburg, died at 12:45 a.m. Monday, October 30, 1972, in University Medical Center, Morgantown, W. Va. He had been seriously ill for the past four months.
He was born December 11, 1917, at West Union, a son of Ella Watson Throckmorton, of Holbrook, and the late Robert L. Throckmorton, Sr. His wife, Mary Garrison Throckmorton, survives.
At the time of his death he had been employed as a storekeeper with the Equitable Gas Company. He had been employed with the gas company for the past 32 years.
Mr. Throckmorton was a member of the Holbrook Christian Church. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of James Farrell American Legion Post 330, Waynesburg, and Waynesburg VFW Post 4793.
Mr. Throckmorton was a 1937 graduate of Center Township High School.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are two sons, Robert L. Throckmorton, III, and Earl M. Throckmorton, both of Kittaning; six grandchildren; one sister, Katherine, wife of Judge Glenn R. Toothman, of Waynesburg; and one brother, William A. Throckmorton, of Cameron Star Route, Waynesburg.
