Robert Wright, of Foston

Robert was born in Plowland Manor, in Welwick, in about 1561. He married Ann Girlington, daughter of Nicholas Girlington.

The pedigree includes two daughters and no sons. However, it has been hypothesized that he might be the father of Peter Wright, of Thorpe, Howden, and Knedlington. This is helped by the fact that Foston on the Wolds is a mere 12 miles from Thorpe. Another rumor has Peter being baptized in St. Andrews Church. A church by that name exists in Foston on the Wolds. Records for it, though, are sadly not yet online.
