Ruby Jewel Sikes

Ruby Carrouth Sikes, age 77, of Del City, OK was called to her Heavenly home on Friday, April 11, 2003. She was born June 4, 1925 in Macedonia, AR to Johnnie R. and Fannie Mae Carrouth. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and after retirement was active in the Pioneer Organization. Ruby was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed her walks in the mall. She was also a long-time, faithful member of First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Leroy, of the home; 1 son, John Sikes and his wife Linda of Oklahoma City; 3 grandchildren Jon Brian, Garret, and Landon Sikes; one half-sister Alma Taylor of Norman, OK; one nephew, Gary Garner; two nieces Sharee Gorman and Glynelle Pool, all of Danville, AR, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Paul Sikes; 1 brother, Laudel Carrouth; 1 sister, Helen Garner; 4 half-brothers; and, 4 half-sisters. Ruby will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and faithful servant of Christ. Services were held Tues.
