JOSEPH BROWN, b. 1679; a cordwainer, son of John and Esther; married in Watertown on November 15, 1699, RUHAMAH WELLINGTON. He probably settled in Watertown Farms (Weston), as he sold to Benjamin Garfield, 72 acres of land in Weston on April 20, 1709, about the time he moved to Lexington.
He and his wife were admitted to Lexington Church on May, 1713, of which church he was afterwards a Deacon. He died on January 11, 1766, aged 86, and his widow died on July 1, 1772, aged 92. He was constable, 1700 and selectman and town clerk of Watertown, 1708.

02. Daniel, born in Watertown, December 21, 1703. He and wife Eliot, were adm. to Lexington Church, March 15, 1733-4. She died on January 11, 1734-5, and he ra. (2d), July 16, 1736, Anne Bright, of Watertown.
03. John, baptized in Watertown, May 5, 1706; died on January 21, 1730.
04. Joseph, born in Watertown, September 2, 1708; baptized and adm. f.c. in Lexington, February 18, 1727, moved to Holliston, where he was a Deacon.
05. James, baptized in Lexington, July 1713; d. June 13, 1768, of Lexington; married on January 21, 1734-5, Jane Bowman. She died on May 8, 1761, and he married (2d), May 18, 1762, Elizabeth, widow of Hezekiah Smith, of Lexington and Wellington
06. Josiah, baptized in Lexington, August 2, 1714; adm. f. c, March 11, 1729-30; settled in Sterling.
07. Benjamin, born in Lexington, June 30, 1720; d. 180?; a Deacon of Lexington; married on December 23. 1732, Sarah Reed, born on January 3, 1724-5, daughter of William, Jr., and Sarah Reed, of Lexington
08. William, born in Lexington, 1723; baptized on April 28; a selectman and Deacon of Framingham where he settled and built mills, called b
09. John, baptized on September 11, 1763; married Martha Rice
10. Ebenezer, baptized on March 29, 1767; ra. Keziah Nixon. He died on his way to Canada with his family
11. Polly, baptized on August 6, 1769; m. Samuel Parris, of Wayland.
12. Joseph (Col.), ra. Deborah Sanger; lived in Petersham, and died on September 3, 1814, aged 56, and his widow died on October 15, 1832, aged 70
