Solveig Thorleifsdottir married Ormur (Worm) Loftsson from Hjardarholt (son of Loftur Gudormssonar) from Modru Vollum. Solveig's father-in-law Loftur was the richest man of his time, powerful and an intellect and poet.

Solveig got tangled with an alcoholic bum - a priest by the name of Sigmund Steindorsson from Mikla-Bae. She had 5 children with him and from there followed a big ancestral lineage of prominent citizens in Icelandic society.

Ormur divorced Solveig and left her a big share of his wealth. He died in 1446. When Solveig and Sigmund's son Jon Sigmundssn inherited his mother's wealth Bishop Olafur Rognvaldson rose up and put in a claim to all the money and property for the church in Skalholt.
