Sally was a Cherokee woman
Biography
Sally's birthdate is uncertain, as is her mother. She was the daughter of Old Man Scraper and either Tiana Smith. [1] or Chic-yoo-she. She married Watie Cummings about 1848 suggesting a birthdate before the 1830's and thus Tiana as her mother. They were the parents of five children, John (died young), Sah-le-ke-ne (died in infancy), Wilson, Eliza, and Jennie. The family is listed on the Drennan Roll as Coming Weight, Sally, Chu-sa-lo-sah (Wilson), John, Eliza, and Sal-le-ke-ne. [2] Sallie died about 1863. [3]
