Baptism was Feb. 25, 1628 Keynshame, Somerset, England, Christening Feb 25, 1639 Keynshame, Somerset, England, Occupation was a Cordwainer.

Samuel Allen was from Chew Magna, Somerset, England. While it was originally thought that he arrived at Chester, Pennsylvania on 11 Dec. 1682, on the Ship Bristol Factor, the Welcome Society of Pennsylvania now lists him on the Society arriving August 1862 with wife Mary, and children Priscilla, Martha, Ann, Sarah, and Samuel. https://www.welcomesociety.org/ancestors.html He brought a certificate from the Monthly Meeting of Friends at Buncomb in Somerset dated 24 Feb 1682. The certificate was received by the Philadelphia Montly Meeting. The family settled on the west band of Neshaminy Creek in Bucks County on 2000 acres purchased from William Penn.
