Mary Atkins Private Image 144 Samuel Atkins on June 25, 1679, the son of Henry Atkins and Bethiah Linnell of Eastham, Plymouth Colony[1] [2] [3]

On April 8, 1703, he married Emeline Newcomb, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Bayes) Newcomb in Edgartown, Massachusetts Bay[4] e[2] [5] [3], and lived in Chatham[6], where his brother Thomas was town clerk[7]

Their children's dates of birth are not recorded. They included:

Henry, who administered his father's estate[2] [5], and who married Deborah Lothrop, daughter of Joseph [3] Eunice Atkins, who married Solomon Collins about 1726[7] [5] [3] Anna, whose marriage to Thomas Kendrick, son of Edward, was published January 27, 1734-35. [Eastham Recs.][2] [5] [3] Elizabeth, who married first, Daniel Eldredge, 31 January 1727-28, in Eastham, [Eastham Recs.]; and she married second, Solomon Kendrick, about 1735, with whom she moved to Barrington NS about 1762[2] [5] [3] Desire, who married a Mr. Sylvester[2] [3] Bethiah, who married February 3, 1757 Christopher Taylor[5] [3] Tabitha, who married May 12, 1757 Southworth Hamlin, May 12, 1757, in Chatham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. [Chatham Recs.; Mf. 9:33] [2] [5] [3] Samuel's name does not appear on the 1761 tax list, but his son Henry wasn't appointed administrator of his estate until August 9, 1768 (Barn. Prob. Recs. 10:195, 13:384, 12:481,482)[5]. This profile shows he died before that date.
