Probate, from New Haven Probate Vol. 5 (CT State LIb Reel #2721, LDS # 5,296) P 455., Inventory of "Samuell Plumb, Late of Milford" was presented in New Haven Aug 15, 1728. It totaled £244,3,2 of which £172 was for house and land. There was also £15 in land in New London.

p. 475-6. Will dated May 22, 1728 of Samuel Plumb ol Milford. Bequeths of: 70 shillings to daughter Mehhittable Suttlief; 20 shillings to daughter Elizabeth Sheldon[?]; 20 shillings to son Jonathan Plumb; rest of moveable estate, after debts paid, to wife Mehitable; dwelling house and homelot to wife Mehittale; after wife's death, house and lot to son Jonathan Plumb; land at Capt. Neck equally divided to sons Ebenezer, Ezra, and Samll Plumb; rights in land calle "Two bitt Purchase" to son Joseph. Proved June 12, 1728.

From "Families of Early Milford, CT" by Susan Abbott (Balt: Gen.Pub., 1979) "He was called a ship carpenter in deed." from tombstone, Died 19 May 1728 ae 68.

There were other Plumbs in Milford. From the baptismal records of some of the children, it appears that wife Mehitabel was a member of the First Church of Milford, but Samuel was not.

"The Genealogical and Family History of the State of CT" by William Cutter et al (NYC:Lewis, 1911) says Samuel married Mehitable Hinde. I HAVE FOUND NO GOOD EVIDENCE OF THIS.
