Includes Notes for Samuel Schamroth: On the birth certificate of his son - Elias - it states that Samuel was an equipment advisor, whereas the 1890 census lists his occupation as assistant shopkeeper in scrap iron. 

The 1881 census has Samuel and his father living in District VIII, house 333. The 1890 Krakow census indicates that they lived on the third floor at 13 Ul. Skawinska in a 1 room and 1 kitchen apartment. At that time, the apartment was occupied by 8 family members and a lodger (Golda Wortsman). His home-tongue was Polish. He left Krakow in 1920, and became involved in the diamond trade in Antwerp. The 1913 Antwerp Census shows his address at Guido Gezellstraat 6, Antwerp. Shortly after arrival, his son-in-law to be, Shmuel Ehrman, also arrived in Antwerp, having come from Oleszytz in Poland. Shmuel Schamroth offered him a job selling diamonds. So began the Ehrman diamond business "Samerson".

Schamroth Rapeport N. Paper Trail of the Antwerp Families Brodheim, Schamroth, Taub 1886 -1956. 2017 Samuel Schamroth, arrived in Antwerp on the 9th August 1909. His passport number 26182 had been issued by the Cracow Police on the 22nd May 1909 and he reported to the Commissaire de Police in Antwerp on the 15th August 1909. His profession was Negt. en diamants.
