About Elias Schamroth
Schamroth Rapeport N. Paper Trail of the Antwerp Families Brodheim, Schamroth, Taub 1886 -1956. 2017 Eliasz (Elias/Alec) Schamroth, a diamantaire arrived in Antwerp in 1907 from Cracow, Austria. Two years after his arrival, he was joined by his twin sister Esther (Erna) in January 1909 and his parents joined the twins later that year. Over the course of time, three more sisters came to Antwerp. During their residence in Belgium, they were registered as foreign nationals. Elias Schamroth married Dabri Taub on the 7th August 1923 in Berchem. At the end of 1928 he emigrated to South Africa and was joined by his family in 1929. He established the 'Antwerp Diamond Cutting Works' in Johannesburg.
