Descendant of Mayflower passenger Henry Samson



Samuel resided in that part of Kingston R.I. which was set off as March 30, 1693 he sold land called" Lit tie Silver" to Wjn. Burlngton. May 1694 sold 50 acres of land at Kingstown to James Reynolds for 2 pounds. April 1, 1705 he quitclaimed to his uncle Ruben Wait of Dartmouth the lands' that had formerly belonged to his grandfather Thomas Wait. 1709 he and others bought 792 acres of vacant land Narragansett. He conveyed lands to his sons over the years.

He was a member of the Six principle Baptist Church of N. King-town, R.I. He was one of the signers of a petition dated Sept. 8 1729 sent to the sociation of Baptist churches meeting in General Court In Conn. paying exemption from unjust taxation for churches of their domination there.

It says in a diary of John Conners, that his will was dated 12-30, 1747 which names his wife Alice who was then 81 years, old. Son Joseph land 200 acres where he now lives $56. Son Samuel the west half of the homestead where he now has a house. And to the children of deceased son Benjamin, Virtue, Abigail and -John money. Son John the 1st half of homestead and old part of house. Wife Alice use of the half the house and all indoor move able s and 18 pounds a year to be paid by John. Inventory and personal effects totaled 208 pounds and 2 shillings

In 1728 Samuel of N. Knogstown conveyed land near the East Greenwich line to his son Joseph.
