1727, Sep 04 Land transfer: Jeremiah Hatcher of Henrico Co Va to Sarah Atkinson, relict of Thomas Atkinson, dec'd, Robert Atkinson, John Atkinson, Samuel Atkinson and Sarah Atkins, sons and dau of said Sarah, for 36 pounds, land 'on north side of James River, called Little Low Ground, next to land formerly sold by John Woodson, dec'd to John Atkinson, dec'd, and the river, 133 acres. Witnesses: John Redford, Bouth napier, Abraham Childers and Ste'n Hughes.

All research indicates Robert Hughes, Sr was husband of Sarah Hughes, Sr, father of Sarah Hughes, Jr, who married Thomas Atkinson (all Quakers).

"Henrico County Court 5 February 1721-1722, p. 155 Will of Robert Hughes presented by his executor and proved by John Redford, Jacob Michaux, and Thomas Carter, three of the witnesses; Capt John Redford and Jacob Michaux, Security." Existing Quaker records show a close relationship between the Hughes and Atkinson clan.
