Sarah Bancroft

Sarah Poole, daughter of Jonathan Poole and Judith, was born on 11 Jul 1656 in Reading, MA.77 Sarah died in Reading, MA, on 20 May 1723; she was 66.77

On 10 Apr 1673 when Sarah was 16, she married Dea. Thomas Bancroft, son of Lieut. Thomas Bancroft (ca 1625-19 Aug 1691) & Elizabeth Metcalf (ca 1626-11 May 1711), in Reading, MA.77 Born on 14 Sep 1649 in Dedham, MA.178 Thomas, the Son of Thomas & Elizabeth Bancroft, was borne the 14 of the 7 mo. 1649. At the age of 2, Thomas was baptized on 28 Oct 1651.412 Thomas died in Reading, MA, on 12 Jul 1718; he was 68.77

Thomas “was an officer in King Philip’s Indian War, and a selectman several years. He lived in the westerly part of Reading, where was the ancient Bancroft homestead. He built the fourth house in West Parish near the Abr’m Temple place.”111

Thomas’s will was dated 15 Jan 1713, and proved 8 Jul 1718.
