SARAH2 BOHANNON (WILLIAM1) was born Aft. 1790 in Knox Co., Tennessee ?, and died August 19, 1846 in Newton Co., Arkansas56. She married SOLOMON HARP Aft. 1810 in Tennessee, son of WILLIAM HARP and SALLY STANTON. He was born 1789 in North Carolina, and died July 26, 1863 in Newton Co., Arkansas.his service and told in her application of her marriage to Solomon Harp in Carroll Co., Arkansas. She applied from Jasper, Newton County, Arkansas, Jackson Township, 25 march 1878. She said Solomon Harp served under Capt. Daniel Newman as a private. One of these who I think may have been Solomon's brother was named Ichabod Harp. In fact, Ichabod was a purchaser at the estate sale of old William Bohannan in 1816. Ichabod Harp sold land in Overton Co, TN on 24 Oct 1831, but was listed on the 1832 tax list there. In the land patents I found that Ichabod Harp of Gallatin Co, IL patented land in Saline Co on 7 Aug 1834. During that time there was a marriage of Elizabeth Harp to David Tanner on 21 Mar 1832 and of Nancy Harp to StephenTanner on 16 Oct 1834 in Gallatin Co. I believe that Elizabeth & Nancy were probably daughters of Ichabod. By 1838 Ichabod was living in Carroll Co, AR (tax list) and apparently remained in that area- dying sometime after the 1840 Carroll Co. census. I searched records in Carroll & Newton Co, AR for these Tanners, but no luck. So I asked for a lookup for them in Gallatin Co, IL. They were found in Saline Co. Stephen & Nancy Tanner were there and David was there, but with a different wife. It appears his 1st wife died. Living just four households away was this family with Bohannan children init: Thomas Tanner 67 m NC farmerMary Ann 45 f TNCeli Ann Bohannon 14 f KYEdward 10 m ILArnett 7 ? She married SOLOMON HARP Aft. 1810 in Tennessee, son of WILLIAM HARP and SALLY STANTON. He was born 1789 in North Carolina, and died July 26, 1863 in Newton Co., Arkansas56Solomon Harp served in the War of 1812 from Tennessee. Nancy, his second wife, applied for a pension on his service and told in her application of her marriage to Solomon Harp in Carroll Co., Arkansas. She applied fromJasper, Newton County, Arkansas, Jackson Township, 25 march 1878. She said Solomon Harp served under Capt. Daniel Newman as a private. Nancy was age 74 years at that date. Solomon Harp applied for Bounty Land on that service on two occasions. Cert. #230 55 80 50 and # 31806 80 50. He was granted land on both occasions. Signing statements for Nancy Wright Harp were Nancy A. Massengale and Marth Jane Harp to support her claim. Martha Jane Harp and Nancy A. Massenglae were the wife and daughter of Elijah Bohannon Harp. Solomon Harp probably lived for a while in Miller County.
