Solomon Harp is buried at Cherry Grove cemetery, Erbie area, Newton County, Arkansas. "Solomon Harp served in the War of 1812 from Tennessee. Nancy, his second wife, applied for a pension on his service and told in her application of her marriage to Solomon Harp in Carroll County, Arkansas. She applied from Jasper, Newton County, Arkansas, Jackson Township, 25 March 1878. She said Solomon Harp served under Cpt. Daniel Newman as a private. Nancy was age 74 years at that date. Solomon Harp applied for Bounty Land on tat service on two occasions. Cert. # 230 55 80 50 and # 31806 80 50. He was granted land on both occasions. Signing statements for Nancy Wright Harp were Nancy A. Massengale and Martha Jane Harp to support her claim. Martha Jane Harp and Nancy A. Massengale were the wife and daughter of Elijah Bohannon Harp. Solomon Harp probably lived for a while in Miller County.
