About Sarah Hotchkiss
Samuel Hotchkiss married Sarah Talmage on 18 March 1678/79 at New Haven, Sarah’s uncle, Major John Nash, performing the ceremony. She was born in New Haven, the daughter of Robert and Sarah (Nash) Talmage, who were both immigrants from England.
According to Roberts, Samuel Hotchkiss was at Guilford [CT] Town Meeting, 22 February 1668 when it was voted to accept him as a planter, but it does not appear that he went to Guilford. He was listed among the proprietors at New Haven in 1685. He apparently went to East Haven, where he died in 1705. His second wife, Hannah (Thompson) Moultrop Hotchkiss outlived him and administered his estate. He was quite wealthy at his decease, with an estate estimated at more than 1700 pounds.

He married (2) HANNAH THOMPSON Aft. 1691, daughter of JOHN THOMPSON and DOROTHY and widow of MATTHEW MOULTROP. She died 19 January 1712/13. They had no children.
