THE BAGLEYS AND HUNTLEYS WERE FROM the British Isles also) and came to New England about 1669, arriving at Boston, but later settling first in Lyme, Connecticut and them at Salisbury, MA. There is a tradition among his descendants that he was "one of those early Scot immigrants who dropped part of their name, retaining the prefix only, "thereby being better able to escape persecution for their religious beliefs." After the birth of their first child, they moved to Concord, MA, where the births of six children are recorded. They moved to Lyme, CT, in 1696. John d. Feb. 24, 1721.
