About Sarah Mason
The best indication that she was a dau. of John Martin, Sr., and mother of Nathanial Mason is the record below:
Franklin Co. VA Order Book 1811-1817 p. 103, Nov. 1812. Trial of George, a negro man slave belonging to Nathanial Mason, the property of the estate of the late John Martin, dec'd.
The Franklin Co. VA Historical Soc., MASON Report has within it that Robert Mason was married to "Sandra Martin".
Sarah Mason is mentioned in a deed to Valentine Brown in 1768. Sarah reliquishes dower in 1786 on a deed. But she does not relinquish dower on a deed to Nathaniel Mason in Oct. of 1788. Or the deed in 1795 from Robert Mason to James Bird.* Reference: RootsWeb's WorldConnect - SmartCopy: Nov 30 2016, 1:49:54 UTC
