Sarah B. Mc Daniel

Sarah Buys was born 14 Feb 1839 in Albany, Albany,New York. The Buys family had met the John Mc Daniel family while living in Mt Pisgah, Harrison, Iowa. Sarah came to Utah with her parents who settled in Bountiful. When John Mc Daniel's first wife Christina Stoker died in Alpine, Utah. John went to Bountiful Utah where Sarah was living with her parents and ask her to marry him. They were married 7 Apr 1857. They were the parents of sixteen children.

Their son John Mc Daniel born 6 Apr 1864 was alive in July when the 1880 census was taken, but died later that summer. He and all of the children who died young or as infants are buried in the Alpine, Utah, Utah cemetery with their father John Mc Daniel,born 10 Jul 1812 in Bloomfield, Gallia Ohio. After her husband John's death the 11 Nov 1884, Sarah moved to Provo the 2 Nov 1885. Where she worked as a seamstress for Taylor Brothers to support herself. She died 21 Sep 1905 in Provo. Sarah was buried in the Provo Cemetery 23 Sep 1905. Her children Christina, Martha, Anderson and Samuel Vascoe are also buried in the Provo City Cemetery. Because Sarah Buys was born the same year as her stepson John Riley Mc Daniel some people think that she married her step son.
