Seaborn Vining Abercrombie

Seaborn Vining Abercrombie was a Civil War Veteran.

Born in GA on July 6, 1822. Enlisted as a Pvt. in Co. K, 30th Regt. GA Infantry on 9/25/1861. Appointed 3rd Corp. of Co. E, 27th Regiment GA Infantry, Nov. 1, 1863. Wounded at Cold Harbor, VA on June 1, 1864.

Seaborn Vining Abercrombie was married at least twice.

His 1st wife was his contemporary & when she died, he was left with children. The children named were:

Solomon Wesley Abercrombie (1852-1929); Susan Mahala Abercrombie Kilgore (1863-1949); Nancy Abercrombie Smith (1867-1935); Isaac M. Abercrombie (1869-1943) and Lena Viola Abercrombie Arthur (1879-1957).

His 2nd wife was Nancy L. Morris (1850-1927) whom he married in 1879.

Two daughters have been identified from this union:

Hattie Lee Abercrombie Smith (1884-1953) and Mattie Vinnie Abercrombie West (1892-1975).

[Note: If Nancy L. Morris in fact married Seaborn V. Abercrombie in 1879, most likely Beatrice Abercrombie Brown (1880-1922) and Seaborn Abercrombie Jr. (1882-1962) were her children as well.]

Seaborn Vining Abercrombie died on 3/5/1892 at Carroll County, GA and is buried in the Carroll County Cemetery, Forest Park, GA.
