"John Francis was a fence viewer, surveyor of highways, constable and school-rate collector in Wethersfield. He died aged 53, five days before his father and only a year after his youngest child was born. His estate was inventoried at 713 pounds 7 pence. He was a sargeant in the colonial Conn. army."
