PROBATE: Memorandum. The twenty sixth Day of September in the Year 1737. I, Seth Aldrich Senr. of Uxbridge in the County of Worcester andprovince of ye. Massachusetts Bay in new England. A Farmer being sickand weak but of a sound and perfect mind & Memory. Thanks be Given tothe Lord therefor Calling to mind the Uncertinty of Humane Life andthat it is appointed for all men once to Dye do make & ordain this myLast will and Testament Principally & first of all I Recomend my soulin ye Hands of God that Gave it and my Body I recommend to ye Earth tobe Buryed in Decent Christian Buryall att ye Discretion of myExecutors & at Touching Such Worldly Estate as the Lord in mercy hathLent me in this Life after my Just Debts & funerall Charges paid I doBistow & Disposs of ye same in ye following manner & form.

PROBATE: -Item. To Mary my Beloved wife I Give one third part of mymoveable Estate & ye one Half of ye Income of my Homestead until myson Samuel Aldrich shall ariveto ye age of one & twenty years andafterward ye one third of ye Income During Life if She Remins a widdowbut if She shall selauss for to marry after marriage but of oneQuarter of ye Income.

PROBATE: - Item to My Beloved son William Aldrich I give ye sum of oneHundred pounds in mony to be paid to him by my Exr. Hereafter named.

PROBATE: - Item to my Beloved son Jonathan Aldrich to his Heirs of hisBody Lawfully Begotten I give all that Land I purchased of Edwd.Bosworth & all of Land that I have Adjoyning to the same. Likewise tenacres of Comon and Undivided Land for to lay out and my Young mareColt.

PROBATE: - Item to my Beloved Son Samuel Aldrich I give all myHomestead on which I Dwell and all of Land Laid out by me for a WoodLott adjoyning to ye Land of William Robinson, and that ye one Half ofye Income of ye Said Homestead to match of it as is necessary my willis that it shall be Improved in Instructing turn in Reading &Wrighting & Cyphering & when he is well Learnt in said arts the Lestto Remain his he paying his sister Elizabeth Aldrich ye sum of fiftypounds. Likewise all my Ceder Swamp. I Give unto my son SamuelAldrich.

PROBATE: - Item unto my four Daughters vizt Sarah Richardson & SusannaWilly & Dinah Aldrich and Abigail Aldrich to them I give all my Landwhich Lyeth adjoyning to ye Lands of Woodland Thompson & JosephThompson Known by ye name of Great Chestnut. Each of them to havetheir Equal Proportion of said Land. Likewise my will is that all myDebts and Charges shall be paid out of my mony which I have by me orDue unto me by bonds ant what is over plus I Give it unot my fourDaughters Last mentioned to be Equally Divided to them by my Exr.

PROBATE: - Item unto my Beloved Daughter Deborah Aldrich I give aCertain peice of Land Lying by a Hill Called Rattle Snake Hill & allye over plus mony which my Exr. Can Raise by ye sale of my Farm Knownby ye name of Bailing Pond Farm after they have paid to my son WilliamAldrich that Hundred pound which I have in the will Given to him whichsaid Farm my will is should be Sold for to Defray said Hundred poundwithal & Likewise I Give her all my Undivided Land to Layout notHeretofore Disposed of.

PROBATE: - Item I Give ye two thirds of my moveable Estate notHeretofore Disposed of to all & Each of my children both Sons &Daughters to be by my Exr. to be Equally Divided to them Excepting myson William.

PROBATE: Lastly, I Constitute & ordain my Beloved Son Abel Aldrich andmy Beloved friend Moses Farnum to be ye sole Exrs. of this my Lastwill & Testament. Requesting & Impowering them by these presents toExecute each & every Clause in this my Last will and Testament and mywill is that they make Sale of my Bailing Pond Farm & Dispos of yemony as aforesaid and that if my son Jonathan Aldrich Aldrich shallcarry himself well to take of ye Entailment Land on ye Estate I haveGiven to him & Likewise my will is that they do not put above if oneHalf of my Daughter Dinah's portion into her hands at first & if otherHalf or ye Interest of it to pay it to her as she shall have needthereof & I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannull all & everyother former Will Testament & Legaces Bequests & Exd. by me in my waysbefore this time named Willed & Bequested Ratifying & Confirming this- and no other to be my Last will & Testament In Witness Whereof Ihave hereunto set my hand and seal ye Day and Year above written. PROBATE: Worcester in Worcester Novr. 1 1737 in the Registers Officeof ye Court of Probate & personally appeared John Spring & EdmundRawson and made oath that they saw Seth Aldrich ye Susbcriber to thisInstrument Signa nd Seal and heard him Publish prounce and Declare yessame to be his Last will and Testament and that when he so did he wasof sound disposing mind & memory according to these Deponants BestDiscerning and that they Together with Joseph Aldrich ye otherswitness set to their names as Witnesses thereof at ye same time and yeTestator's Presence.

Seth Aldrich , son of Jacob Aldrich and Huldah Thayer, was born July 6, 1679,, and died October 15, 1837. He married September 3, 1700, Deborah Heywood, born November 9, 1682, daughter of Samuel and Mehitable Heywood, of Mendon. He married (second) Mary.

His fifteen children, born over 27 years:
