About Sgt. David Lamb
INFO: The part of Leicester that David lived in later became Spencer. He was apparently well respected because he was elected to a number of offices including Assesor (1768-1769), Treasurer (1772, 1773, 1774), and Selectmand of Spencer (1783).
MILITARY: In April 1775, General Gage of The British Army marched on Concord to seize military stores. In response to the April 19, 1775 alarm spread throughout the countryside, the Minute Men marched to Cambridge in response. Among them were Reuben Lamb, Jones Lamb, John lamb and David Lamb. Military records show: "Lamb, David, Spencer, Private, Capt. Ebenezer Mason's Company of Minute-Men, Col. Jonathon Warner's Regt., which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775. Service seven days, also Sergeant, Capt. John Cowl's Co., Col. Benjamin Ruggles Woodbridge Regiment, Company return probably Oct. 1775..." David served in October 1775 at the seige of Boston. He also servedin the group which was dispatched to reinforce the Northern Army campaign which resulted in the capture of General Burgoyne and his Army
