Silas Berry

Silas Berry was born circa 1848 in Williamson County, Texas. He died 4 Aug 1912 in Artesia, Eddy County, New Mexico. Silas was the son of John Berry (b. circa 1786 Kentucky - d. 1866 Williamson County, Texas) and Hannah Devore (b.1812 Louisiana - d. 1904 Tyler County, Texas). Silas married Sarah Hutchison and they had three kids: Hiram; Una; and William A. Silas did at least two terms in the state prison at Huntsville, Texas. He was lis ted there in 1880 on the census. He apparently did a return engagement serving five years for burglary and theft in 1892. The wife and kids seemed to disappear.
