Yule book p11 Silas signed as surety for a lease of Iron works in Uxbridge by his father in 1762. At that time his lands were described as 30 acres known as the forge lot, one forge with 3 fires, three dwelling houses, one barn, one coal house, one, corn mill, one bottling mill, one scythe mill, bounded easterly by land of Daniel March, and on the road leading from the said farm to Worcester, notherly by land of Mr March, westerly by Mr Gowing's land, extending to the Blackstone river, then down said river to the land of Nathaniel Gowing.
