Sir Andrew Kerr, 1st Lord Jedburgh was the son of Sir Thomas Kerr of Ferniehirst and Janet Kirkaldy.

A contract for the marriage of Sir Andrew Kerr, 1st Lord Jedburgh and Anna Stewart was signed on 20 October 1584. He married, secondly, Katherine McCulloch circa 2 July 1621.

He died after 20 April 1633, without surviving male issue.

  • He held the office of Heriditary Baillie of Jedbergh Forest.
  • He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber in February 1584/85.
  • He was invested as a Knight before 1604.
  • He was created 1st Lord Jedburgh [Scotland] on 2 February 1621/22, with special remainder to his heirs male and successors in the family of Ferniehurst bearing the name and arms of Kerr.
  • He lived at Ferniehirst, Midlothian, Scotland.
