Sir David Ramsay, 2nd Baronet Ramsay of Balmain

Biographical Summary

"Sir David Ramsay, Baronet [S 1625] of Balmain, only son and heir; succeeded to the Baronetcy on the death of his father. He had charter de novo of his lands and Barony, 12 August 1670. He is said to have married firstly, Margaret, daughter of Sir James Carnegie, of Balmamoon. He was M.P. [S] for Kincardineshire, 1672, till his death. He married secondly, in or after 1663, Elizabeth, widow of Sir Alexander Burnett, 2nd Baronet [S 1626], daughter of (--) Coutts, of Auchtercoull. He died September 1673, being killed by a fall from his horse."
