Biographical Summary

"Sir James Douglas Hamilton Hay, Baronet [S. 1703], 1st and only surv. s. and h., b. 28 Dec. 1800, suc. to the Baronetcy, in 1832, and assumed the title either then, or at some date before 1853. He m. in 1819, Jane, da. of William Sanderson, of Springbank. He d. 30 July 1873, at Ottawa, in the Dominion of Canada, in his 73d year. His widow d. 24 Feb. 1888."
