Marriage

Sir James Hamilton of Evandale married Lady Helen Cunningham. On 20 April 1565 her husband obtained a charter under the great seal of Scotland to "Jacobo Hamilton, militi, filio quondam Jacobi Hamilton de Fynnart, militis, et Dominae Helenae Cunninghame. James Hamilton of Crawfordjohn was son of James Hamilton of Finnart. James Hamilton of Arran arranged to return of Crawfordjohn to James Hamilton of Finnart's son after the death of King James V died.

To be held de me. Rendering therefor two pennies Scots in name of blench ferme. With precept of sasine addressed blank. At Glasgow, 24th October 1584.
