15 March 1608: Charter by which James VI, King of Scots, ratifies charters by which the deceased Walter Ker of Litildene confirms that he has given the baronies of Maxton and Lyntoun in the sheriffdom of Roxburgh, including the lands of Littildene in barony of Maxton, to his eldest lawful son and heir, Sir John Ker of Hirsell. The king also ratified a charter by which the deceased William Kirktoun of Stewartfield confirms that he had given the four husband lands called Tuunyettame and Bairers, located in the barony of Maxton to Joh Ker of Hirsell. 6 June 1611: Extract contract between Alexander, earl of Home, on one part, and Sir John Ker of Hirsell, kt., with consent of dame Margaret Quhytlaw, his spouse, on other part, whereby said Sir John dispones to said Alexander lands of Hirsell, Auld Hirsell, carrucate in town of Hirsell, called lie Countis-croft, Cauldstreameflat, land next water of Leit on south of bridge, in territory of Hirsell, Puttaneschauce, 12 acres in said territory, Roundis and Braidspottis, Braidheuche, Dedrich and Leyis on south of said water towards monastery of Cauldstreame, fishing of Braidhauche and Teuid, 4 husbandlands of Hatchetnes, mill called Fyreburnemylne and mill of Cauldstreame, in excambion for lordship and barony of Jedburgh. 4 February 1617: Charter by which Sir John Ker of Jedburgh, his wife Lady Margaret Quhytlaw, and their eldest son John Ker, in fulfillment of a marriage contract dated 10 January 1617, confirm that they have given an annualrent from the lands and barony of Langnewtoun to Anne Dundas, the future wife of John Ker, junior.
