Biographical Summary
"Sir Patrick Hepburn-Murray, Baronet [s. 1676], of Glendoick and Blackcastle, and afterwards of Balmanno, co. Perth, only s. and h., bap. 2 Nov. 1706 ; suc. to the Baronetcy, 8 Jan. 1714; was a Captain in Cochrane's Marines. He, presumably (or possibly his father), suc. to the estate of Balmanno on the death s.p. of his uncle, Anthony Murray, Merchant, of Edinburgh, by whom it had been purchased. He sold the estate of Glendoick. He m., 14 Nov. 1751, Anne, 1st da. of Alexander Hay, of Drummelzier, co. Peebles. He d. 5 April 1756, at Balmanno. Admon. 5 May 1770. His widow m. 7 Oct. 1762, Archibald Stirling, of Keir, and d. 14 Oct. 1807."
