Biographical Summary

Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, Baronet [1688], of Wynnstay, 1st s. and h. by 2d wife, b. 1749 and suc. to the Baronetcy, 23 Sep. 1749; matric. at Oxford (Oriel Coll.), 9 May 1766, aged 17, and was a: D.C.L., 4 July 1771 ; was M.P. for Salop, 1772-74, and for Denbighshire, 1774 (four Paris.) till death in 1789. He m. firstly, 11 April 1767, Henrietta, 4th da. of Charles Noel (Somerset), 4th Duke of Beaufort, by Elizabeth, da. of John Berkeley. She d. s.p. 24 July following, at Kensington. He m. secondly, 21 Dec. 1771, Charlotte, sister of George, 1st Marquess of Buckingham, da. of the Rt. Hon. George Grenville, by Elizabeth, da. of Sir William Wtndham, 3d Baronet [1661]. He d. 24 July 1789, and was bur. at Rhuabon, aged about 40. Will pr. 1789. His widow, who was b. 14 Sep. 1754, d. 29 Sep. 1832. Will pr. Oct. 1832 and July 1851.
