He was the son Son of George Booth Esq and Elizabeth Trafford. After his father's death, his mother married James Done of Utkinton, esq., and when widowed by the death of James, Elizabeth was married for a third time, to Thomas Fitton, esq

Sir William Booth, Sheriff of Chester & Lancashire left a will on 25 November 1579. He died on 28 November 1579 at age 39. [1] His estate was probated on 10 December 1579. [1]

He married Elizabeth Warburton, daughter of Sir John Warburton and Mary Brereton, circa 1563 at of Warburton, Cheshire, England.

They had 7 sons (Sir George; Edmund; John; Robert; Peter; Richard; & William) & 6 daughters (Mary; Elizabeth, wife of William Basnet, & of (Mr.) Walshe; Dorothy, wife of Ralph Bunington; Alice, wife of Mr. Panton; Eleanor; & Susan, wife of Sir Edmund Warren, & of John Fitton).[4]

William and Elizabeth had thirteen children:[5]
