William Wallace of Craigie, here treated, was the son of Sir John Wallace of Craigie and Sibilla Cathcart. He is reported to have married Elizabeth Campbell and to have died in 1530. Stirnet: Wallace 03

According to the Book of Wallace, when John Wallace of Craigie died, leaving a widow and infant daughter, the administration of his estate devolved upon his younger brother William, who is in 1527 styled " tutor of Craigie." The Book of Wallace I: 43
