MORGAN COUNTY, to wit: Know all Men by these Presents, that we Solomon Shriver and George Tederick are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency John Floyd Esquire, Governor of Virginia (for the time being) and his successors, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, for the payment whereof, well and truly to be made to the said Governor, or his successors, for the use of the Commonwealth, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 4th day of August 1832. THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such, that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the said Solomon Shriver and Margaret Tederick of this county. Now If there is no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue. Signed, sealed and delivered in presense of Solomon Shriver [signature] George Tederick Jr. [signature]."

1850 U.S. Census, Morgan Co. Virginia, 17 Sep., district #42-house #285 family # 285 Solomon SHRIVER age 44, male, farmer, value of property $300 [unclear, could be $500.], born Virginia;

• Denton Shriver 15, male, farmer, born VA.;
• Daniel Shriver 13, male, born VA.;
• Elizabeth Shriver 12, female, born VA.;
• Barbary Shriver 8, female, born VA.;
• Tenny Shriver, 6, female, born VA.;
• John 4, male, born VA.;
• Joseph 2, male, born VA.

[A few houses away, house 289, lived Margaret's mother Elizabeth TEIDRICK living with her son John and Peter TEIDRICK, Margaret's brother with his wife & family, house 290.]

In son Denton Shriver's obituary it makes reference to a brother. "During the war he served in the Confederate army, escaping unscathed, while a younger brother was unfortunate enough to be killed in battle practically by his side." Perhaps there were newspaper accounts of this death, also Confederate records for Denton & Daniel should be researched.
