About Sophie Benjamin

  • Identified as Sophie Frank in Erich Woehlkens, Lisa Kuhlmann and Beate L Weiland, Beiträge zur Geschichte der Juden in Uelzen und in Nordostniedersachsen (1996), p. 122, and in Alemannia-judaica http://www.alemannia-judaica.de/prichsenstadt_synagoge.htm. The spelling of her name as Franke in the Deportation List of 10 May 1942 (Pössneck to Belzyce Ghetto) was, according to City Archivist in Prichsenstadt, a mistake, which has been replicated in the entry in the German National Archives, Memorial Book.
  • Date/place of birth identified in German National Archives, Memorial Book
  • Identified as daughter of Baruch and Babette (née Fleischmann) Frank by City Archivist in Prichsenstadt on 07 February 2017 in email.
