KECK Obituary - Decatur Herald & Review, Apr. 25, 1974
Thomas A. Keck Sr., 66, of 475 Sheridan Dr., died 7:25 p.m. Wednesday at his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. James, Catholic Church. Rosary will be said by St. James Catholic Church members 8 p.m., Friday at J. J. Moran. & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call 3 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Keck was born in Decatur, son of Joseph and Julia Moser Keck. He married Beata Lorenz Feb. 9, 1929.
He was a self-employed sign-painter and secretary of Local 1214, Sign Painters Union. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur and a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Robert T., Joseph V., Donald L., and John E., all of Decatur; Thomas A., Jr., Washington, Ill.; James W., Chicago, and William L., Milwaukee; daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Betty) Ross, Colora, Md., Mrs. Tom (Marilyn) Dechant, Joliet, Mrs. William E. (Virginia) Thompson, Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Lookabaugh, Mrs. Jack (Sylvia) Dougherty, Mrs. John (Catherine) Tokarz, and Jean Gurley, all of Decatur.
Also surviving are brothers, Leonard J., Mount Vernon, and John W., Decatur; sisters, Mrs. James (Florence) Heatherton and Miss Beatrice Keck, both of Decatur, and Mrs. Kenneth (Elizabeth) Meyer, Fremont, Ohio; 48 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Two sons, one daughter, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Memorials: American Cancer Society or St. Mary's Hospital.
