JOSEPH V. KECK DIES
Rites Saturday for Retired Mueller Machinist
Joseph V. Keck, 90, of 1074 E. Clay St., died at 10:45 a.m. today in his home following an illness of about a week.
He moved here from Ohio in 1887. He retired from the Mueller Co. as a machinist in 1939.
He was born April 13, 1870 in Dinton County, Ohio, a son of Andrew and Sari Sweeney Keck. He married Julia Moser Nov. 24, 1903 in Decatur. She died in 1957.
Mr. Keck was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He leaves three sons, Leonard J. of Mount Vernon, Thomas A. and John W., both of Decatur; three daughters, Mrs. James (Florence) Heatherton and Miss Beatrice Keck, both of Decatur, and Mrs. Kenneth (Elizabeth) Meyer of Fremont, Ohio; a brother, William A. of Bloomington; 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
A Requiem High Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. James Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the J. J. Moan & Sons Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
The members of St. James Catholic Church will recite the Rosary at 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
